Served as Director of Research for LipidArt Ltd, Hungary; COO for N-Gene Research Laboratories, USA/Hungary; Deputy Director of Science for Biorex, UK/Hungary; and Research Assistant Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience at University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Received Permanent Resident status in the US upon ‘Preference A’ as an ‘Outstanding Scientist’. Co-inventor of 12 pharmaceutical patents. A patented molecular library, of which he is a co-inventor, was acquired by a Big Pharma company.
Dr. Bernath directed drug development projects from lead selection to Phase 2 clinical trials. Has extensive experience in interacting with the health authorities in the EU including the EMA. Has written expert reviews for over 130 Marketing Authorization Applications. Dr. Bernath received MSc in Biology and Chemistry with excellent record from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, where he also earned a University Doctorate in Anatomy and Cell Biology with Summa cum laude record. Received PhD in Biological Sciences from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary, and had postdoctoral training at University of Pittsburgh, Dept. of Behavioral Neuroscience, PA, USA. Dr. Bernath holds an MBA degree from Brunel University, London, UK.
