2026 Diabetes Technology Meeting

2026 Diabetes Technology Meeting

Kinexum Founder and Executive Chairman Dr. Zan Fleming will participate in an expert consensus meeting, CGM to Diagnose Diabetes, on October 26, 2026, immediately preceding the annual Diabetes Technology Meeting (DTM) in Arlington, Virginia.

As continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technologies continue to advance, an important question is emerging: Can CGM evolve from a tool for disease management into a more prominent role in the diagnosis of diabetes and prediabetes?

Chaired by Drs. Viral Shah and Guillermo Umpierrez, this invitation-only consensus meeting will bring together approximately 50 experts spanning clinical medicine, diabetes technology, diagnostics, regulatory science, and healthcare delivery to address the scientific, clinical, regulatory, and implementation questions surrounding CGM-based diagnosis. Dr. Fleming will address the topic, “What constitutes a confirmatory test for a borderline test result?”

As interest grows in the use of CGM for diagnostic purposes, establishing evidence-based approaches for confirming borderline or indeterminate findings will be essential to building clinical confidence, supporting regulatory acceptance, and defining the role of CGM within future diagnostic frameworks for diabetes and prediabetes.

Following the meeting, participating experts will collaborate on a consensus report intended to help shape the future role of CGM in diabetes diagnosis. Dr. Fleming will also participate in DTM’s Hot Topics program later that week, speaking on the potential for diabetes technologies to help prevent multiple chronic diseases.

Kinexum is honored to contribute to these important discussions at the intersection of diabetes technology, clinical care, and regulatory science.
