Jyotirmoy Kusari, PhD

Dr. Jyotirmoy Kusari, Ph.D., is an accomplished drug discovery and development scientist with extensive pharmaceutical industries and healthcare settings experience. He has demonstrated expertise and success in bringing drugs from the early stage of discovery to Phase-I and II clinical trials in patients with rare oncologic, metabolic, chemotherapy/diabetes-induced neuropathic pain, sickle cell, or ocular diseases. Dr. Kusari is considered an expert in the therapeutic subject matter with a substantial understanding of the life cycle management concept. He has also demonstrated exceptional skills in drug target discovery and lead optimization, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), toxicology, clinical pharmacology, Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) analysis, Model-Informed Drug Development (MIDD), and first-in-human dose calculation. Dr. Kusari is highly experienced in interacting with health authorities and regulatory agencies and their processes and attends meetings with the FDA to support submissions and regulator question responses. He has submitted several IND applications for Phase I and Phase II clinical trials. Dr. Kusari has published more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and patents. He has demonstrated success in fund generations from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and foundations for drug discovery and development. Dr. Kusari serves as a pharmaceutical and biotechnology consultant for several companies to accelerate drug development from Pre-IND to Phase II clinical trial, including the execution of the overall non-clinical DMPK, clinical pharmacology, and IND/NDA strategies. In addition, he provides services to investment banking on equity research, biopharma company analysts, and global investment and market research firms.
