Georgina completed her studies at the Department of Biology (University of Athens) and received her PhD in Immunology, at the Medical School (University of Athens). Georgina performed her initial postdoctoral fellowship at the Division of Biomedical Sciences in Imperial College, London, wherein through a European Molecular Biology Organization award continued her studies as a Research Associate.

Following her return to Athens, Georgina has been appointed the position of an Associate Professor at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. Her research studies focused on investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying T cell differentiation and pathogenicity in the context of allergic, autoimmune diseases and cancer. Her research findings have attracted interest and investment from the pharmaceutical industry and are being developed as potential therapies for allergic asthma and autoimmunity.

Georgina has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals, and has obtained competitive research grants from the government, private agencies and the pharmaceutical industry, and has received numerous scientific awards.
